Match referees
The panel
The match referees for PSL 11 are Iqbal Sheikh, Iftikhar Ahmed, Nadeem Arshad, Muhammad Javed and Ali Naqvi from Pakistan. Ranjan Madugalle and Roshan Mahanama from Sri Lanka are also on the panel. They oversee conduct, playing conditions and any discipline matters. Their presence helps ensure the tournament runs to a high standard. Any code of conduct issues will be handled by them in line with PCB rules.
Their role
The referees work behind the scenes but their role is important. They make sure the spirit of the game is upheld and that any problems are dealt with fairly. Teams and players know the rules and the referees are there to enforce them when needed.
English commentary panel
The line-up
The English commentary panel includes Lisa Sthalekar (Australia), Athar Ali Khan (Bangladesh), Mike Haysman (South Africa), Dominic Cork, Mark Butcher, Sir Alastair Cook, Mark Nicholas (England), JP Duminy (South Africa), Martin Guptill (New Zealand) and from Pakistan Sikandar Bakht, Bazid Khan, Amir Sohail, Waqar Younis and Ramiz Raja. What they bring
The mix of former players and broadcasters gives a balance of insight and presentation. Some have played at the highest level and can explain the game from the inside. Others are known for their commentary and can keep the flow of the broadcast smooth. Together they will cover all 44 matches of PSL 11.
Urdu commentary: first time for every match
The team
The Urdu commentary team is Salman Butt, Aqeel Samar, Ali Younis, Tariq Saeed, Marina Iqbal and Urooj Mumtaz. PSL 11 is the first edition to offer Urdu commentary for every match. The move reflects the league's aim to serve fans in the language they use every day. Fans in Pakistan and abroad who prefer Urdu can now follow the full season in their language.
Why it matters
Past editions had some Urdu coverage but not for every game. This year the PCB has made it a priority to offer a full alternative feed. The commentators are well known to Urdu-speaking fans and will bring the same energy and analysis as the English team. It is a big step for the league and for the fans.
